Tuesday's board was a short one. A handful of early start times came off the table, the weather put a couple of games in question, and what was left did not offer much worth chasing. That is fine. The card does not need to be long, it needs to be right, and tonight it comes down to one matchup at Citi Field.
The Cubs and Mets send out two right-handers who have spent the season fighting their command. Kodai Senga is back from the injured list and has not looked the part, carrying an ERA up near nine with a walk rate that has ballooned and hard contact following him in his only start since returning. Edward Cabrera is more of the same on the other side, sitting north of five with a home run problem of his own. Two pitchers working deep counts against two lineups that handle wild right-handed pitching is a recipe for traffic, and the game total feels low for it.
The side leans the same direction the matchup does. Chicago brings the better lineup and leads the league in outs above average, while New York ranks near the bottom of that list. Senga has been hittable since coming off the shelf, and the Cubs do their best work against right-handed pitching. At a price hovering around even money, the stronger roster is worth backing straight up.

Senga has been wild and hittable since his return, Cabrera carries the same control issues on the other side, and both lineups punish that profile. With two arms grinding through long innings, the runs should come.
The better lineup, the league lead in outs above average, and a Mets starter who has scuffled since coming off the injured list. At a near pick-em price, Chicago is the side worth taking.
