Mississippi State Bulldogs lost by 33, spread +5.5

Sanders caught both of his targets, short passes for 5 and 2 yards in the third quarter, and finished 4.5 short. Watson did throw to his backs, just not this one: Quinshon Judkins caught 6 of 7 targets for 43 yards. Most of Sanders' work came on kickoff returns, and two of his three returns were called back for holding. Right idea, wrong back.

Las Vegas won 94-83 to end the series. The first quarter went 31-31, on pace for well over 200, and then the game slowed down: 40 points in the second quarter and 33 in the third. Indiana shot 38 percent and 9 for 32 from three, and Caitlin Clark went 6 for 18 with six turnovers two nights after her 27 and 15. A'ja Wilson scored 36, 12 of them at the line. 177 total, 3.5 short. The pace showed up for one quarter.

Pittsburgh won 30-27, and 57 points beat the under by 14.5. It was 17-17 at halftime, so the number was mostly gone by the break. The Steelers offense we faded went 7 for 12 on third down with 411 yards, and Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdowns. Joe Burrow matched him with three, and the two teams combined for 763 yards. The run-and-punt game we expected never showed up. Clean miss.

Minnesota won 23-16, a 7-point loss against our 1.5. We were covering at 17-16 with 9:02 left, then Will Reichard hit field goals from 56 and 43 yards in the last 3:10. The Vikings offense we doubted finished with 230 yards and went 2 for 15 on third down, so that half of the read held. Tampa lost it on special teams and up front: Myles Price returned a punt 86 yards for a touchdown, and Baker Mayfield was sacked six times. Right about Minnesota, wrong about the Bucs.

Baltimore held up its end, beating Dallas 34-31 on Tyler Loop's 56-yard field goal at the gun, with Derrick Henry scoring twice and the Ravens running for 192 yards without a turnover. The Saints leg beat us. New Orleans led 27-16 with 5:46 left in the third, then gave up 19 straight points and lost 35-27. The Saints outgained Las Vegas 381 to 340 and turned it over four times, and that was the game. Right on the Ravens, one collapse short on the parlay.

Texas Tech won 49-14, a 35-point margin, so we lost by a point and a half. Sam Houston was down 35-14 going into the fourth quarter and still inside the number, then Tech scored two more touchdowns. The Bearkats held the ball for 35:06, but 27 carries for 74 yards and three turnovers gave them nothing after halftime. Texas Tech threw three interceptions and still won by 35 because it ran for 219 yards at 6.3 a carry, which is where our read on the Sam Houston defense broke. Lost it late on the number.

Boise State won 32-7. Boise went 10 of 14 on third down and held the ball for 36:46, and Maddux Madsen was 16 of 23 for 204 yards and three touchdowns. Broc Lowry went 15 of 28 for 110, and a Western Michigan offense with 223 total yards was never going to keep up. We read this as a one-score game and it was 25-0 after three quarters. Wrong side, no argument.

Air Force won 36-33 in double overtime, a 3-point win, so we lost at -5.5. We had this covered: Air Force led 27-17 after a Liam Szarka touchdown run with 5:56 left, and still led by 7 with 1:49 to go. Then Herschel Turner broke a 57-yard touchdown run to tie it, and Rocco Conti's 7-yard run won it in the second overtime, a field goal short of the cover. The option did what we expected, 70 carries for 363 yards and 36:04 of possession. Right on the football, one run away from a cover.

Jets lost 20-17 in overtime and covered the teased number. Arizona lost 31-7 to Seattle, so the Cardinals leg missed by 14.5.

24 of 30 for 238 yards and two touchdowns in a 23-19 Browns win at Tampa. Over by 64.

Clemson 28, North Carolina 20. Carolina led 17-15 at the weather delay and lost by eight.

Nebraska 34, North Dakota 7. Forty-one points, 14.5 short.

Ole Miss 32, LSU 24. Fifty-six points, 2.5 short.

Northwestern won 41-7 and UCLA won 52-38, then the Bears lost 9-3 to Minnesota on Sunday. Sized 0.63u to win 1.00u.

Kansas City 31, Denver 10. Never a one posession game after the first quarter.

Baltimore 41, Indianapolis 23. Never close.

Chicago 59, Carolina 37. Bears scored on nearly every possession.

James Madison 20, Liberty 13. Lost by exactly seven after Liberty held the ball for 37 minutes and outgained JMU.

Houston 33, Oregon State 20. Won by 13, with two turnovers and 376 passing yards allowed to a first-time starter.

Nebraska 49, Ohio 21. Wrong bet, period. That is all.

Memphis 42, Arkansas State 24. Lost by 18.

Troy 24, Sam Houston 21. Forty-five points, under by more than a touchdown.

Florida 66, FAU 21. Lost by 45.

A brutal beat, lost by half a point. The game played almost exactly how we drew it up. Michigan State held the ball for 43 minutes, Milivojevic went 26 of 34 for 247 with no turnovers, and Toledo went 1 of 8 on third down and ran 41 plays all night. The one thing we didn't draw up was Connor Walendzak breaking a 71-yard touchdown run to open the fourth quarter. Take that play out and Toledo had 19 carries for six yards. Michigan State was bleeding the clock on third-and-3 with the game in hand when the back fell down short of the marker, and instead of kneeling it out, Fitzgerald sent Boyd on for a 51-yarder that landed the game on 50. Under 49.5, dead by a kick.

An incredibly bad beat. Down 23-7, Hawaii ripped off three fourth-quarter touchdowns and led 27-23 late. Even after Micah Ford's go-ahead score it was 30-27 and the ticket was still covering at +4. Then Alejado fumbled with 1:12 left and Stanford scooped and scored from 31 yards out for the cover. 37-27. From winning outright to a ten-point final in the last 72 seconds.

Both legs lost. Bill Belichick's shorthanded North Carolina won outright 15-10 in Dublin, holding TCU to 10 points, and Memphis beat UNLV 27-21 at Allegiant. A ticket built on two favorites winning got neither.

Wrong from the start. San Francisco won by 24 and the game was never competitive after the early quarters.

Five total runs. Both staffs controlled it and the over never had a real chance.

Seven runs against a number of nine. Close enough to watch late, never close enough to cash.

Klassen went seven full innings, 21 outs against a number of 14.5. The leash read was just wrong.

The Valkyries leg won. Texas led 2-1 after five, then the bullpen gave up four and the Rangers lost 2-5. The parlay died with them.

Down 1-3 through five. The Angels scored all three in the third and Texas managed one run in the window.

Down 1-8 through five. Harrison gave up eight runs in under five innings and it was over early.

A one-run loss that came out of the bullpen. Dobbins did his job with one run over five innings, then the relief gave up three and the Cardinals fell 6-5.

Same story, different dugout. Tidwell allowed one run into the sixth and left in position to win, and the bullpen gave up four after he left. Houston took it 6-3.

Eight and a half held until the late innings, then the same bullpen collapse that killed the Giants moneyline pushed the total to nine. Two tickets died on the same relief inning.

Golden State built a 19-point lead, gave most of it back, and the game still only reached 162 points. Both offenses went cold in the half court down the stretch and it finished six short of the number in an 84-78 Valkyries win.

The first five ended 1-1, which settles our number as a loss. Kirby gave up five hits in five innings and the lone mistake was a two-out homer by Victor Mesa on an 0-1 count in the top of the fourth. The offensive struggles continued and Seattle lost the game 3-2.

Two strikeouts in 5.1 innings. He pitched to contact all night and won the game 2-1. The prop never had a pulse.

Kelly and Keller combined for two earned runs and ten strikeouts. The total landed at five and was never close.

Mets won 14-3. Thornton allowed three earned, right in line with the regression case, but a seven-run bullpen inning turned it into a rout.

Cubs won 11-0. Skenes struck out eleven but gave up five earned in 5.1, and Imanaga shut Pittsburgh out over six. The matchup history flagged as the counterargument is what decided it.

Three strikeouts in 5.1 innings with six earned runs. His worst start of the stretch on the night the prop needed the strikeouts.

White Sox won 4-2. Texas trailed early and the first-five moneyline was down by the break.

Rays beat Toronto 4-2. The Blue Jays moneyline never got going against Tampa Bay.
